The review is strictly anonymous. All manuscripts that report primary research or secondary analysis of primary research are peer-reviewed by two independent reviewers with relevant expertise; in case of the conflicting opinions, a third independent reviewer may be consulted by the Editor-in-Chief/Executive Editor. The TLQ applies an anonymous model of peer review: neither author nor reviewers know the identity of each other.

Other manuscripts, such as Editorials, Book Reviews or Reports, are peer-reviewed either by the member(s) of the Editorial Board or, where not in area of expertise of the member(s) of the Editorial Board, by at least one independent expert with relevant expertise.

Potential peer reviewers must inform the Editor-in-Chief/Executive Editor of any actual or potential conflict of interest before accepting an invitation to review a manuscript.

Appeal of an editorial decision will only be considered if it refers to a specific manuscript and must be based on evidence that 1) a reviewer made a significant factual error/significantly misunderstood a manuscript, or 2) the integrity of the peer-review process was compromised.
